A 1-step challenge is simple on paper: reach the profit target without breaching the drawdown. Most traders who fail do not fail because their strategy is bad. They fail because they size the challenge like a personal account and ignore the maths of the rules. Here is a plan built around those rules.

Quick summary

  • Know the three numbers: profit target (6%), max drawdown (3% EOD) and consistency (40%).
  • Risk per trade: a fraction of the drawdown, not of the account.
  • Daily budget: stop for the day before the rules stop you.
  • Spread the profit: several green days, not one hero day.
  • Use the dashboard: every rule is tracked live.

Step 1 — Translate the rules into dollars

On a $50,000 Ftytrade challenge the target is 6% ($3,000) and the max drawdown is 3% ($1,500). That is a 2:1 ratio: you must make twice what you are allowed to lose. Write both numbers down. Every decision below comes from them.

Step 2 — Size against the drawdown, not the account

Risking "1% of the account" ($500) sounds conservative, but it is a third of your drawdown. Three losing trades and you are done. A safer rule: risk 10–15% of the drawdown per trade, $150–$225 on the $50K example. That gives you 7–10 losing trades of room, which is what a normal strategy needs to work through variance.

Step 3 — Set a daily budget and respect it

Even without a hard daily loss limit, give yourself one: around 25–30% of the drawdown per day ($400–$450). When you hit it, close the platform. The drawdown is EOD, so a bad day only hurts if you keep adding to it.

Step 4 — Plan for the consistency rule from day one

The consistency rule means your best day cannot be more than 40% of total profit. With a $3,000 target, no single day should exceed $1,200. The practical consequence: aim for $300–$600 days and expect to need around 6–10 green days. If one day runs hot, that is fine: keep trading normally and the percentage comes down by itself.

Step 5 — Trade your best session only

Most futures volume in ES and NQ happens in the first 90 minutes of the US session and around major news. Pick one window you know, trade it every day, and skip the rest. More screen time does not mean more profit; it means more trades outside your edge.

Step 6 — Use the dashboard as your risk manager

Your Ftytrade dashboard shows profit target progress, drawdown distance, daily loss and best-day percentage in real time. Check it before every session. If drawdown room is under 50%, cut size in half until you rebuild it.

The five mistakes that fail most challenges

  1. Revenge trading after a loss, outside the plan.
  2. Oversizing to "finish it today".
  3. Ignoring the consistency rule until the final day.
  4. Trading news you have never traded before.
  5. Moving stops on a losing trade.

What happens when you pass

On Challenge Rapid you pay the activation fee and your Funded account is created; on Challenge Steady there is nothing more to pay. Same platform, same credentials, same rules you already know. Then build the safety net and request your first payout.

Pick your account size, write down your three numbers, and start.

  4. Operar noticias que nunca has operado antes.
