A futures prop firm lets you trade a large account without putting up the capital yourself. You prove your skill in an evaluation, the firm gives you a funded account, and you keep most of the profit you make. That is the whole model. The details are what matter, so here they are.

Quick summary

  • You pay a small fee for an evaluation (the "challenge").
  • You trade with rules: profit target, max drawdown, consistency.
  • Pass, and you receive a Funded account.
  • You keep up to 80% of the profit as performance rewards.
  • Accounts are simulated with real market data; your own money is never at risk beyond the fee.

What "funded" actually means

A funded account is a simulated trading account, sized from $25,000 to $150,000 at Ftytrade, that runs on real CME market data. You trade it exactly like a live account: same prices, same fills, same platform. When you make profit on it, the firm pays you a share of that profit as a reward, from the firm's own funds. You never deposit trading capital and you cannot lose more than the fee you paid.

Why does the evaluation exist?

The firm needs to know you can trade with discipline before it pays rewards on your results. The evaluation is that test. At Ftytrade it is a single step: reach a 6% profit target while staying above a 3% end-of-day drawdown and under a 40% consistency rule. There is no second phase and no time limit.

The three ways to get a Ftytrade account

  1. Challenge Rapid: $29/month until you pass, then a one-time activation fee. Lowest entry cost.
  2. Challenge Steady: one single payment, no subscription, no activation fee.
  3. Fty Direct: no evaluation. Funded from day one, no profit target, payouts on demand after the safety net.

How you get paid

Once your Funded account has built a small profit buffer (the Safety Net), you can request a payout of the profit above it. Ftytrade keeps the rest of the split, processes the request within hours and pays in the method you chose in your dashboard. Challenge accounts pay monthly; Fty Direct pays on demand.

What you are really paying for

The fee covers the evaluation service and the simulated program: real-time market data, the platform connection, the dashboard with live rule tracking and support. It is not a deposit and it is not trading capital. That is why it is small compared with the account size.

Is it right for you?

A prop firm makes sense if you have a strategy that works on a small account and you want to scale it without risking your savings. It is not a shortcut to learning to trade: the rules reward discipline, and the evaluation is designed to filter for it.

If that sounds like you, pick an account size and start your challenge today. Every rule is public before you pay.
